COUNTRY BLISS UPDATES/pumping Some residents of the Country Bliss Subdivision and the Stone Brook Hollow Subdivision requested that the Town keep them up-to-date with the water issues in Country Bliss Subdivision. The water levels seem to change on a daily basis. Please call our DPW Foreman Rick at 262-470-5582 if immediate assistance is necessary. December 1, 2009 at 6:30 pm- Agenda - Meeting with the Town of Mukwonago Town Board and Country Bliss Residents. The meeting place has not been determined as it depends on the number of interested residents. 2008 Flood Recovery Program- Call today to find out if you are eligible to receive assistance (877) 947-2211 or dial 211. September 4, 2009- Letter from Dale Shaver, Director of Dept. of Parks and Land Use, regarding a meeting held on September 2, 2009 at Waukesha County regarding the issues in Country Bliss Subdivision. August 13, 2009 Memo- Memo from Town Chair regarding the Country Bliss Water Committee meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009. No decisions will be made at the August 19, 2009 Regular Town Board meeting regarding the water issues in Country Bliss. August 9, 2009 Memo - Memo from Town Chairman regarding the meeting with the County and State Representatives on August 6, 2009 to review the requirements for the Community Development Block Grant- EAP. The Town Chair will be meeting with representatives from the State and County in early August to decipher the critical details from the manual. A printed copy of the EAP Implementation Manual is available for viewing in the Clerk's Office. July 2, 2009- The Emergency Assistance Program Implementation Manual in electronic form has arrived. *Damaged by snowplow August 12, 2008: The two pumps remaining in Country Bliss Subdivision will be removed on Friday, August 15. August 4, 2008: The large pump in Stone Brook Hollow will be removed today. Two small pumps will slowly continue pumping water into the retention pond until they can no longer access water or August 15th, whichever comes sooner. July 31, 2008: The latest water sample result was the same as the previous sample at 3/cful/100mls. Two small pumps will continue slowly pumping in Country Bliss Subdivision. The large pump in Stone Brook Hollow is only run for approximately 2 hours each day. Two monitoring wells have each dropped approximately 10 inches in one week. July 25, 2008: The result of the July 24th water sample was 3/cful/100mls. It is well below the maximum standards of 235 cful/100mls. Three pumps will continue to run slowly for the next few days in Country Bliss Subdivision. The larger pump in Stone Brook Hollow runs a short time every morning and a short time every evening. Water levels continue to slowly recede. Another water sample will be taken on Monday, July 28, 2008. The water levels in the 5 monitoring wells will be checked every three days. After the initial reading, the water levels have gone down several inches in four of the five wells. One monitoring well has no water in it. The webmaster will be attending a Clerk's Institute Monday through Thursday, July 31. I will update this site on Thursday afternoon. July 24, 2008: Another water sample was taken today. No results yet. Three pumps are still running in Country Bliss, however, the water level is dropping and the pumping is continuing at a slower rate. Less water is being pumped into Stone Brook Hollow retention pond. Some homeowners have reported that they are pumping less water out of their basements. July 23, 2008: The results of the last water sample on 07/21/08 was 1/cful/100mls. Another sample will be taken on Thursday, July 24, 2008. Pumping is continuing with three pumps in Country Bliss. The pumping is slower due do the lower water levels. The Town road is above water now, but the road is still closed to traffic. Monitoring wells have been installed and will be checked weekly. The initial water level in each of the 5 wells was determined yesterday, July 22. July 22, 2008: The Town road is above water as of this date. Pumping with 3 smaller pumps is continuing in Country Bliss. July 21, 2008: The water level is dropping in Country Bliss. Three pumps will continue running 24 hours each day to pump water out of Country Bliss Subdivision. Progress is very evident. The results of the latest water sample was 105 cful/100mls which is still below the maximum of 235 cful/100 mls for Beach Water Standards. The larger pump in Stone Brook Hollow is turned on approximately 3 times per day to lower the retention pond. Another water sample was taken...no results yet. July 19 & 20, 2008: Saturday & Sunday - Fred Leppin is gone for the weekend, so our DPW will monitor the pumping over the weekend. The three small pumps in Country Bliss will continue to run each day and night, and the larger pump in Stone Brook Hollow will run approximately 8:00 am until 8:00 pm. Check for new updates on Monday afternoon, July 21, 2008. July 18, 2008: Friday 4:30 pm- Four pumps were utilized again today and the water level dropped approximately 5 inches from yesterday. One pump was shut down for a brief time due to maintenance. Another smaller pump had to be moved into deeper water in Country Bliss. The large pump that moves the water out of Stone Brook Hollow was running almost continually today from 8:00 am thru 8:00 pm. One of the pumps in Country Bliss will have to leave for the weekend but should be back on Monday, July 21, 2008. Town Engineer was present today to check on the progress. July 17, 2008: Thursday 3:30 pm - Another water sample was taken today....no results yet. A fourth pump was added to Country Bliss to move water faster to Stone Brook Hollow. As of today, the water level has dropped 12 inches! July 15, 2008: A third pump was added in Country Bliss Subdivision. July 13, 2008: Initiated pumping: three pumps were used, two pumped water out of Country Bliss and one pumped water out of Stone Brook Hollow Subdivision. July 7-13, 2008: Pipeline was put in place to pump water from Country Bliss, into Stone Brook Hollow retention pond, then finally into Jericho Creek. Water level is very high. July 3, 2008: Two water samples were taken from Country Bliss to be tested at Waukesha County before pumping began. The tests were below "Beach Water Standards" of less than 235 cful/100 ml. One sample was 6.3 and the second sample was 14.6. July 2, 2008: Waukesha County was declared a Disaster due to flooding and severe weather. 28 counties in the State of WI are also on this list. June 16, 2008: The Town started pumping with one small pump with a 4 inch pipe into the retention pond in Stone Brook Hollow Subdivision. June 6, 2008: The beginning of the flooding. This area received 13 inches of rain from June 6th through June 14. |
